Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she earned an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the only daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent in a family that included four brothers. The idea of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school and eventually gaining commercials when she moved from New York. In her teens her first appearance as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of television shows, films as well as dramas in the years since. Similar to her profession but her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. She has been in the past talented actress struggled to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005 her custody was removed from her.
